Service Description
This 8-week online group is designed to help teens strengthen focus, organization, and follow-through while building resilience, confidence, and emotional regulation. Many teens with ADHD struggle not because they aren’t capable, but because their nervous systems are often dysregulated under stress, making it difficult to access executive functioning skills like planning, task initiation, organization, and sustained attention. This program is unique in that it integrates nervous system regulation (bottom-up strategies) with executive functioning coaching (top-down strategies). Teens learn to regulate their physiological state, which allows them to focus, plan, and follow through more easily — without relying solely on willpower or “pushing through” tasks. Each week focuses on practical skills and real-life application, combining structured exercises, interactive group discussion, and supportive peer connection. In the first weeks, teens learn foundational nervous system regulation skills, including breathing techniques, grounding, and self-soothing strategies that reduce overwhelm and improve attentional capacity. As the program progresses, we layer on executive functioning tools, such as task initiation strategies, planning, prioritization, time management, and organization skills. Teens practice applying these strategies to homework, projects, and daily routines while using regulation techniques to maintain calm, alert focus. The group also emphasizes emotional regulation, helping teens manage frustration, anxiety, and impulsivity that can interfere with school and social success. Through guided exercises, reflection, and peer problem-solving, participants build self-efficacy and learn how to respond to challenges with confidence. By the final sessions, teens integrate these skills into an individualized action plan that supports ongoing success in academics and life. Benefits of the program include: Improved ability to start and complete tasks with less stress Greater focus, attention, and follow-through Practical strategies for organization, planning, and time management Reduced anxiety and frustration around schoolwork Stronger resilience, confidence, and self-efficacy This online format provides a safe, interactive environment where teens can practice skills, connect with peers experiencing similar challenges, and receive guidance from an experienced therapist with over 15 years of expertise supporting teens with ADHD.
